Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Trainee Medical Officers team as a Registrar in Paediatric Intensive Care.
Responsibilities
- provide high-quality care to critically ill and injured children as part of a specialised Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team
- gain broad exposure to paediatric critical care under the supervision of experienced Consultants
- participate in the assessment and management of acute paediatric emergencies, including trauma and retrieval services
- perform emergency and routine procedures appropriate to your level of training and experience
- engage in clinical teaching and contribute to ongoing education within the unit
- participate in research projects related to paediatric intensive care to support evidence-based practice
Essential qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent
- registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
- minimum 2 years satisfactory experience as an Intern/Resident Medical Officer/Registrar in a recognised teaching hospital
- clinical skills appropriate for the duties performed in the work unit
- ability to work as an effective team member in a multi-disciplinary environment
- problem solving and decision-making skills (both clinical and individual)
