About the role

You will contribute to the provision of a Clinical Immunology and Allergy Service within the objectives and philosophies of the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).

Providing inpatient and ambulatory care, you will implement protocols for drug and food allergy testing, drug desensitisation and venom immunotherapy. You will manage inpatient consultations in combination with the Consultants, and whilst on ward duty you will be responsible for the admission and continuing management of Clinical Immunology patients, including elective day patient admissions.

As part of your role, you will participate in unit research projects and contribute to the unit’s teaching program in aspects of Clinical Immunology as directed by Clinical Immunology Consultant staff and as required by the RACP. The Royal Adelaide Hospital is the largest hospital in South Australia, providing world-class health care and facilities.

Essential qualifications

  • Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration
  • You will need to be competent and confident in the management of anaphylaxis
