Description

  • Salary: MDP-2 $89,253 – $144,291 p.a. plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits
  • Temporary Full-Time Positions
  • Duration of Training Program: 12 months (2 February 2026 – 29 January 2027)
  • Term of Contract: 3 years in accordance with clause 52 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement. Following completion of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background and genuine interest in Respiratory or Sleep Medicine. Positions are based at one of South Australia’s Local Health Networks; applicants may specify their preference in their application.

This multi-faceted role requires maintaining the high standards and principles of the regional health service through individual performance, active participation as a key member of the medical unit and division, and contribution to the broader institution-wide multidisciplinary service.

Additionally, you'll play a vital role in the education of medical students, junior medical staff, and other professional colleagues, as well as actively engage in research activities.

Essential qualifications

  • registered with the Medical Board of Australia and having completed the FRACP written and clinical examinations or having completed the FRACP written exam
  • eligible for provisional training you will bring appropriate post graduate experience
  • a team player who can operate effectively as part of a team or individually
  • demonstrate competency in a range of routine and common procedural ward-based skills
  • possess high level skills in negotiation and communication
  • exhibit the ability to display genuine empathy for patients and their relatives and family
  • able to work under pressure without compromising patient care, you will have proven skills in problem solving and decision making at both the clinical and the individual level
  • hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
  • registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration
