This position offers an opportunity to play a vital role in safeguarding the well-being of vulnerable children and families. As a Consultant - Child Protection Services, you'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team working to ensure the safety and protection of children in our community.

Responsibilities

• provision and monitoring of quality medical services
• supporting the mentoring and training of staff
• conducting comprehensive assessments, forensic medical assessments
• developing tailored intervention strategies
• providing expert guidance to healthcare professionals and other stakeholders

Essential qualifications

• possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build trust and rapport with families from diverse backgrounds
• a deep understanding of child protection legislation, policies and best practices is essential
• ability to navigate complex situations with sensitivity and professionalism
• Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
• appropriate Specialist Qualifications 
• registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award
• FRACP (Paediatrics) or equivalent appropriate specialist qualification is highly desirable
