Looking for somewhere fundamentally different? Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) is seeking medical registrars for positions including General Medicine, Nephrology, Alcohol and other Drugs, Cancer Services, Palliative Care, Cardiology and ICU. Can be from ACCRM/GP/ICU etc.

The medicine here is entirely unique. Around 75% of patients are Indigenous - many from remote communities, often with complex co-morbidities, social and cultural contexts, providing a unique, challenging and incredibly rewarding experience. ASH is a 183 bed teaching hospital. The Department of Medicine staff consists of General Physicians and Specialists, including cardiology, rheumatology, endocrinology, oncology, infectious diseases, respiratory, palliative care, alcohol and other drugs, nephrology, gastroenterology, rehabilitation and many regular visiting specialists.

There are 4 General Medical teams, a busy Outpatient Department and outreach clinics to some of the most remote parts of Australia. Alice Springs is a multicultural community with well-established amenities with world class outdoors adventure opportunities and a vibrant cultural and social scene.

Essential qualifications

Applicants must be AHPRA-registered and eligible for training positions. Positions are accredited for basic training and other colleges also.

We strongly encourage those from other training streams such as ACCRM, GP and critical care, wanting experience in rural general medicine or indigenous health to apply. PGY 3+ required.
