We have 6-month to 2 year contracts available for registrars within the Neonatal Department at the Perinatal Centre - King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH); the surgical centre - Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH).

KEMH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is located in Subiaco. This is the largest tertiary perinatal NICU in Australia, admitting over 100 neonates <28 weeks gestation annually. All complex pregnancies within Western Australia are managed by feto-maternal medicine specialists at KEMH. There will also be a wealth of experience to give competence in delivery room resuscitation, ventilator management of acute respiratory diseases and continuous monitoring.

PCH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is located on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre site in Nedlands. The PCH NICU is the sole tertiary surgical NICU in Western Australia; the unit will provide exposure to and involvement in the diagnosis and management of a variety of neonatal surgical conditions and congenital anomalies. In addition, most outborn infants who require neonatal intensive care are transferred to the PCH NICU.

Please note, relocation expenses are available to successful candidates offered a 12 months’ Offer of Employment, to the value of $8000 for international candidates and $3000 to successful inter-state candidates.

Essential qualifications

You must be eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia.
