Coffs Harbour Health Campus is seeking an experienced and committed Visiting Medical Officer – Cardiologist to join our specialist team. What you'll be doing

As a VMO Cardiologist, you'll deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients within a Level 5 hospital. You’ll participate in the after-hours on-call roster and contribute to the growth and planning of cardiology services across the district.

The role also involves active participation in clinical governance, including audits, risk management, and quality improvement activities. You’ll be expected to supervise and mentor junior medical staff, support multidisciplinary learning, and contribute to student and trainee education. Using clinical information systems effectively and ensuring timely and accurate documentation will be key to supporting safe, coordinated care.

Essential qualifications

• hold Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology
• have current (or eligible) registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• demonstrated expertise in delivering specialist cardiology care in a tertiary or large regional setting, with a strong commitment to teaching, supervision, and service development
• effective communication and a collaborative approach are essential, along with willingness to support local service planning and uphold standards aligned with NSW Health policies and MNCLHD procedure
