The Trauma Care Verification Program Committee (TCVPC) is seeking a representative from the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) to join the committee.

Description

The Trauma Care Verification Committee manages the hospital accreditation program and shapes the standard of trauma care in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
TCVP responsibilities 
  • develop the TCVP to be the principal method of quality assurance and benchmarking for trauma services in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand
  • establish a framework that supports review of major and non-major trauma centres, and whole of region trauma systems
  • coordinate the delivery and reporting of reviews in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand
  • evaluate and measure the efficiency of the program
  • review evidence on contemporary trauma care standards and maintain the currency of the TCVP standard
  • maintain relationships and reporting lines with program partners
  • explore potential business opportunities including requests for verification of hospitals in other countries on their merit
  • oversight of business processes and contractual obligations including financial audit is the responsibility of RACS
TCVPC AFRM Representative responsibilities
  • volunteer for a minimum of 1 on-site hospital review per year
  • review the reports of all hospitals assessed by the review panel (up to approximately 12 per year)
  • contribute expertise and knowledge with a view to improving standards of trauma care
  • ideally, already be an active reviewer within the program, where possible
