The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in General Paediatrics is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from General Paediatrics Fellows to join the Committee as an Appointment Member.

Description

One of the main roles of the ATC is to monitor and assess individual trainee progress in General Paediatrics in Australia. Other key responsibilities of the ATC include but aren't limited to:

  • monitor and assess individual trainee progress
  • confirm completion of training requirements to progress to Fellowship
  • monitor training of and provide support to supervisors
  • accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in conjunction with the General Paediatrics Accreditation Subcommittee
  • assess recognition of prior learning
  • monitor and review training program requirements, assessments and curriculum in consultation with relevant stakeholders, and recommend changes to the College Education Committee, via the Paediatrics and Child Health Division Education Committee
  • advise on assessment and resource content
  • advise on matters relating to Overseas Trained Physicians
  • provide advice on specialty specific Continuing Professional Development and other educational resources for members
  • modify training requirements for individual trainees, as appropriate and in accordance with College policies and procedures

The ATC typically meets 10 times each year. This includes 8 2-hour meetings via Zoom and 2 face-to-face meetings at RACP Sydney. The first term of office is for 3 years.
