Description
To provide comprehensive specialist medical management of HIV, sexually transmitted infections and blood borne viruses within the Mid North Coast Local Health District portion of the North Coast Population and Public Health (NCPPH) Directorate, as part of the North Coast HIV & Sexual Health Services team.
To provide clinical support and guidance for NCPPH Staff and other health care workers in relation to management of HIV, sexually transmitted infections and blood borne viruses.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, counsellors and support staff, and provide clinical supervision for nursing staff and junior medical staff.
Essential qualifications
- Demonstrated clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice and registered (or registerable) with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine or recognised equivalent.
- Extensive clinical experience in sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and HIV management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement in the field of Sexual Health and HIV.
- Current drivers' licence and willingness to travel when necessary.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as directed consistent with Award classification.
