Description
The Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Staff Specialist – Microbiology and Infectious Diseases vacancy.
The position will have a dual microbiology laboratory and clinical infectious diseases focus. Dual trained applicants or registrars completing their fellowship are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Microbiology and Infectious Diseases services to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
- Assist in providing consultative service in infectious diseases medicine to other specialist units, medical colleagues and allied health care workers.
- Assist in the provision of specialist medical support and advice to Infection Prevention and Control services within the THS as required.
Salary
Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $216,300 through to Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $296,640 with further salary increments available.
- All other allowances as per current Award.
- Subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
Essential qualifications
- Holds specialist registration; or
- Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on the specialist pathway; or
- Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality.
