Description

Positions available:

  • 1 x Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander Trainee representative
  • 1 x Māori Trainee representative 

The College Trainees’ Committee was established by the Board to be the peak body representing the interests of trainees at the College.

The Committee:

  • provides a forum for the views of all trainees and dual trainees;
  • advocates on behalf of trainees in matters relating to their selection, training, assessment, supervision and overall education experience;
  • makes recommendations regarding policy that relates to any training matter
  • liaises with all regional trainees’ committees;
  • liaises with trainee representatives across the College and its bodies;
  • recommends to the appropriate College body any new initiatives to support trainees that can enhance their training experience;
  • manages the selection, election and nomination of trainee representatives to the various College body councils, committees and groups.

Members are appointed for an initial 3-year term, with the option to renew for a further term, or until admission to Fellowship.

Members are required to attend four committee meetings: 1 face-to-face meeting and three videoconferences a year.
