Description

One of the main roles of ATC in Clinical Genetics is to monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Clinical Genetics for Australasia.

There are currently 2 Fellow positions vacant on the Training Committee as the appointed members. This is a great opportunity for Fellows who are willing to support current Clinical Genetics Advanced Trainees and the training program.

In this role, you'll help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce, and culture of Clinical Genetics in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

You'll be involved in
  • reviewing and monitoring the training program requirements, assessment, and curricula in consultation with relevant specialty societies and other stakeholders
  • recommending changes to the College Education Committee via the appropriate Division Education Committee.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to
  • marking Metabolic case reports and College Projects
  • monitoring training of, and providing support to, supervisors in Clinical Genetics
  • accrediting Advanced Training settings or programs in Clinical Genetics
  • assessing recognition of prior learning
  • advising on matters relating to Overseas Trained Physicians, as requested
  • modifying individual training requirements, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies and procedures
  • assessing and providing advice on specialist recognition in Clinical Genetics for Fellows in the Paediatric and Child Health Division or the Adult Medicine Division who have not completed the Clinical Genetics Advanced Training program.

Meetings are held 3 times a year.

Members are appointed for an initial 3 year term, with the option to renew for 1 more term.
