Description

The Chair of the AFRM Research Committee provides leadership and coordination to support research initiatives in rehabilitation medicine. This role is critical in ensuring that AFRM contributes meaningfully to the broader research agenda of the College and advances evidence-based practice in rehabilitation.

The Chair of the AFRM Research Committee sits as an appointed AFRM Academic Representative on AFRM Council. This role assists the Faculty President in guiding the Faculty’s research agenda and provides direction and leadership to the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine Research Committee as ex-officio Chair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate meetings of the Research Committee.
  • Prepare and present a proposed list of research-related activities for each calendar year, aligned with AFRM and College strategic objectives.
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and monitor research activities as approved by the AFRM Council, ensuring progress is tracked and reported appropriately.
  • Provide input on matters of rehabilitation research to the College Research Committee and support the integration of AFRM perspectives into broader College research initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to the AFRM Council on behalf of the Working Group, including outcomes, progress, challenges, and new opportunities.
