This is a valuable opportunity to support the coordination and development of clinical examinations in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Kaupapa o te Komiti | Purpose of the Committees

The Aotearoa NZ AM CExS (Clinical Examination Subcommittee) oversees the coordination and operations of clinical examinations in New Zealand. Its responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing guidelines for candidates and examiners undertaking NZ examinations
  • Evaluating policies and procedures for conducting examinations and recommending adaptations for the NZ context
  • Overseeing examiner calibration, training, and recruitment, as well as local examination organisers
  • Convening a Senior Examiners Panel and appointing co-opted examiners
  • Preparing annual reports for the Assessment Committee – Adult Medicine, including exam conduct and emerging issues

Takohanga | Responsibilities

The Committee typically meets twice a year, with one meeting held kanohi ki te kanohi | face-to-face in Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington. Travel costs are covered in accordance with the RACP Travel Policy.

Most of the mahi will occur during scheduled hui. There is likely to be up to two hours of pre-reading required before each hui. Members may be asked to respond to communication out of session.

The Subcommittee oversees the coordination and operations of clinical examinations in New Zealand. Its responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing guidelines for candidates and examiners undertaking NZ examinations
  • Evaluating policies and procedures for conducting examinations and recommending adaptations for the NZ context
  • Overseeing examiner calibration, training, and recruitment, as well as local examination organisers

Paearu Mātauranga, Paearu Wheako | Knowledge and experience criteria

  • Be a RACP Member of mātai rata pakeke | Adult Medicine, residing in Aotearoa NZ
  • Demonstrate high-level communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Computer literate with access to a computer
  • Be able to prepare thoroughly for participation in RACP activities
