Description

The Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) has set up a new Clinical Working Group (CWG) to provide strategic advice and clinical oversight as they work towards improving the way diagnostic imaging and pathology reports are shared in My Health Record.

The CWG will bring together representatives from key peak bodies, professional associations, consumer groups, and other stakeholders in the field.

Members will be selected for their expertise to provide guidance on safety, quality, and implementation, ensuring this initiative aligns with both clinical workflows and consumer needs.

Meetings will be held at least bimonthly, or more frequently if needed, and will be chaired by the ADHA Chief Clinical Advisor, Karen Booth. The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 23 July 2025.

Key responsibilities

  • provide advice on high level requirements and inform functionality of HealthConnect and associated Agency modernisation initiatives
  • identify potential risks, issues with adoption for HealthConnect and associated projects and advise on adoption issues for clinicians, consumers and relates HCPs
  • advise and support the development “how to guides” considering their clinical significance, urgency and workflows for of artefacts and protocols for clinicians
  • identify existing or potential enablers or incentives for clinicians and consumers
  • provide input into the development of a communication and engagement strategy
  • be a sounding board for change management interventions and roll out
  • promote awareness and uptake of the initiative among networks and stakeholders
  • provide advice on a framework to monitor and evaluate implementation and outcomes of the initiative
