The Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine Accreditation Subcommittee (AFRM Accreditation Subcommittee) currently has 1 vacancy for a Fellow of AFRM in contributing to the discussion and decision-making process on the Accreditation of training settings for Rehabilitation Medicine.

The accreditation of training settings for Rehabilitation Medicine trainees is an essential activity that ensures high quality training environments for tomorrow’s Physicians. The RACP and the AFRM Faculty Training Committee are responsible for ensuring that all training is undertaken in accredited training settings and this is managed by AFRM Accreditation Subcommittee.

An initial term of 3 years will be held by the member. Subcommittee members can serve a maximum of 2 consecutive terms on a single committee.

Key responsibilities

The following commitment is required of members:

• reading time for papers which are delivered approximately one week before each meeting
• 1 face-to-face meeting in Sydney per year
• 4 teleconference meetings of two hours each per year
• flexibility and a willingness to perform accreditation assessment of training settings in Rehabilitation Medicine through teleconferences, paper-based reviews, and rare site visits. The expectation is that Subcommittee members will perform a minimum of 3 Site Accreditation Teleconferences per year, following being an observer of 2
