The AFRM Council is seeking to appoint an Academic representative. The Fellow in this role should have a strong background in academia and research. The Academic Representative will assist the AFRM President and Council in fostering the development of AFRM research capacity.
The Academic Representative is expected to create connections between the AFRM Council and other key Committees. In addition to sitting on the AFRM Council, the Academic Representative will also Chair the AFRM Research Committee and sit on the following bodies:
The AFRM Council has been established to:
as each relates to Rehabilitation Medicine;
The AFRM Research Committee has been established to act as the authoritative source of direction and advice for rehabilitation medicine research.
The functions of the AFRM Research Committee include:
The AFRM Council and the AFRM Research Committee both meet 4 times a year, usually by Zoom.
The College meets the travel costs of Council Members for any face-to-face meetings.
