Calling for Advanced Trainee Representative: Faculty Training Committee in Rehabilitation Medicine

Date published: Sep 16, 2025, 10:15 AM

Summary

The Faculty Training Committee (FTC) in Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking expressions of interest from AFRM Advanced Trainees to join the committee.

Description

The FTC encourages first- or second-year trainees to apply to represent their cohort under the new curriculum; this position is available to all Rehabilitation Medicine Advanced Trainees.

We recognise that trainees, as future Fellows of the College, have a very important role in our training program. Trainees are involved in all aspects of its complex governance representing their fellow trainees and contributing to decision making.

This is a great opportunity to share your perspectives as a trainee and support communication between the FTC and Advanced Trainees.

You'll also gain insight into how the committee makes decisions to support individual trainees’ progression throughout their training.

Key responsibilities

  • regular attendance at Committee meetings
  • provide trainee perspectives on issues
  • represent trainees’ interests
  • advocate on behalf of trainees

The Committee usually holds 1 face-to-face meeting and up to 3 video conferences a year.

Members are appointed for an initial 3-year term, with the option to renew for a further term.
