In accordance with our Gender Equity in Medicine and Membership Diversity and Inclusion principles, we actively promote and encourage diverse representation in all College activities.
The CAC is the lead committee for assessment functions across our training programs. It acts as the expert body for assessment, develops standards and policy, and ensures high-quality practices through the consistent application of established RACP assessment standards and processes across training programs.
The Committee meets up to 4 times per year, with 1 in-person meeting held in Sydney.
As a Māori Health Representative, you'll provide cultural insights and advice to the Assessment Committee, ensuring assessments, examinations and delivery are informed by Kaupapa Māori principles and a Te Ao Māori lens. This includes, advising on the representation of Māori health and perspectives in assessment content, supporting understanding of how cultural context influences learning and performance.
You'll ensure continued alignment with Hauora Māori outcomes and priorities, provide updates to the Māori Health Committee, following College Assessment Committee meetings. This ongoing connection ensures cultural guidance, accountability, and responsiveness to the needs of Māori trainees. You'll be supported by the Tumuaki/Head of Māori and Equity and the Lead Fellow, Māori Health, who will provide strategic and cultural support. This collaborative leadership ensures that cultural safety is upheld across assessment practices and that Māori values and perspectives are embedded throughout the College’s work.
