Description

The Internal Medicine Journal (IMJ) is published by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. There are 32 specialty editors who report to the Editor-in-Chief, Dr Paul Bridgman, FRACP; and an Editorial Ombudsman on the Editorial Board.

Key responsibilities

  • Suitable applicants should have a strong publication record in the field of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

The scope of practice for editors' duties includes:

  • skill in the art of writing, editing and critical assessment
  • timely assessment and selection of appropriate reviewers for submissions
  • arbitration of suitability for publication of submissions
  • soliciting high profile reviews and timely submissions
  • advising on editorial policy considerations
  • providing the Editor-in Chief with annual summary reports
  • familiarisation with electronic online peer review programs
  • attending the annual IMJ Editorial Board meeting
