The OTP Assessment Committees play a key role in the assessment of OTPs by determining which physicians can work in Australia. Part of this process oftentimes involves an interview for clarification and additional information on an OTP’s specialist assessment application.
OTP specialist interviewers play a key role in the assessment process. Key responsibilities include:
Interviewers will be required to complete an online learning module. Details and the enrolment key will be shared once the OTP Team receives the complete Expression of Interest form.
Once the online module has been completed, interviewers must attend a minimum of 2 OTP interviews in any subspecialty. The OTP Team will contact interviewers beforehand regarding availability to observe. Interviewers may observe more than 2 interviews if they choose.
Once an interviewer has observed 2 OTP interviews, the OTP team will contact the interviewer when there are OTPs in Paediatric Cardiology who require an interview for their specialist assessment. The OTP Team will provide date and time options based on the availability of our OTP Assessment Committee interviewers.
If the interviewer is not available, we'll email another specialist interviewer and be in touch for future interviews.
If the interviewer is available and confirms availability, you must keep this commitment as cancellations cause long delays for our OTP applicants, and our Committee interviewers have reserved time in their calendars for these interviews.
Interviewers will be compensated $400AUD per interview plus $40 GST. Interviews take approximately 1 hour via Zoom. Following the interview, the RACP requires the completed interview report within 1 week after the interview.
To apply, please submit an expression of interest form (DOC) to OTP@racp.edu.au with the subject line 'OTP Interviewer – Paediatric Cardiology’.
