Expressions of Interest are open for a General Member to join the Paediatrics & Child Health Divisional Written Examination Committee.

The Divisional Written Examination Committee, Paediatrics & Child Health, designs, maintains, and develops the Divisional Written Examination (DWE). The Committee oversees the Item Writing Panel, engages in continuous quality improvement of the DWE, and provides recommendations on policy and assessment changes to the College Assessment Committee and the Cross College Examination Review Advisory Group. It also undertakes analysis of written and practical data, oversees the writing of examination questions, and develops a blueprint of the written examination to ensure alignment with the Basic Training curricula. In addition, the Committee plays an important role in advocating for the wellbeing and welfare of candidates sitting the DWE and of members of the Item Writing Panel.

The General Member is responsible for providing strategic input, recommendations, and advice on behalf of Fellows to the Paediatrics & Child Health Divisional Written Examination Committee, and contributing to ongoing quality improvements in assessment processes.

Applicants should be prepared to attend up to five meetings per year, including one face-to-face meeting held in Sydney. Applications are welcome from Fellows of the Paediatrics & Child Health Division across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, including those from regional and remote locations and with a variety of workforce experience. Please note this role is open to Fellows only, and not to trainees.

The position will be appointed for an initial term of 3 years, with the opportunity for renewal.
