In accordance with our Gender Equity in Medicine and Membership Diversity and Inclusion principles, we actively promote and encourage diverse representation in all College activities.
The PBAC is an independent expert committee that advises the Minister for Health and Ageing on matters relating to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
In making its recommendations to the Minister, the PBAC is required under the National Health Act 1953 (the Act) to consider the clinical effectiveness, safety and cost effectiveness of a medication compared with existing therapies. Applications are being sought from RACP cardiologists with the appropriate knowledge and experience to serve on the PBAC.
Note: any successful applicant to the PBAC would undertake the role in their capacity as an individual expert and not as a formal representative of the College.
