Calling Advanced Trainees to join the AFRM Paediatric Training and Assessment Committee

Date published: Oct 2, 2025, 14:20 PM

Summary

The Faculty Paediatric Training and Assessment Committee (FPTAC) in Rehabilitation Medicine seeks expressions of interest for an Advanced Trainee Representative to join the Committee.

Description

While the FPTAC encourages first- or second-year trainees to apply to represent their cohort under the new curriculum, this position is open to all Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Advanced Trainees.

We recognise that trainees, as future Fellows of the College, have a very important role in our training program. We involve trainees in all aspects of our complex governance as representatives of their fellow trainees.

This is a great opportunity if you're willing to share your perspectives. In this position, you'll

  • assist in communication between the FPTAC and Advanced Trainees
  • be involved and understand how the training committee makes decisions to support individual trainees’ progression throughout the course of their training
  • attend Committee meetings
  • provide trainee perspectives to the issues of concern
  • represent trainees’ interests
  • advocate on behalf of trainees

Meetings are held 4 times per year with 1 face to face meeting, usually held in November.

Members are appointed to the FPTAC for a 3-year term and can be renewed for a further term or until the Advanced Trainee becomes eligible for Fellowship.
