The wellbeing of trainees and Fellows is a priority for the RACP, and we are pleased to launch a series of new resources on our eLearning portal that will help members take care of themselves and each other: Physician Self-Care and Wellbeing, Creating a Safe Workplace, and Training Support.

Physician Self-Care and Wellbeing encourages participants to reflect on their self-care and wellbeing, and consider how they can contribute to a culture of wellness in the workplace. It includes a number of tools that will enable participants to develop self-care plans, maintain wellbeing, identify signs of difficulty, access support, and build resilient workforces.

Creating a Safe Workplace enables participants to identify and respond to bullying and harassment in the workplace. It includes tools for developing preventative strategies, dealing with bullying and harassment, and where to find support.

Training support: Helping trainees get back on track introduces the RACP Trainee in Difficulty Support Policy and Pathway and includes tools to assist Supervisors to identify trainees in difficulty and develop plans for improving performance. It also includes tips for DPEs, supervisors and trainees, plus webcasts and support services information.

We have also recently launched a resource on Methamphetamine which is targeted at members and other frontline healthcare workers. The resource draws together the latest statistics, media coverage and government response, and includes tools to support the wellbeing of frontline medical professionals, and how to deal with methamphetamine presentations. This resource was developed in partnership with NSW Health.

These multimedia resources are grounded in real life experiences of trainees and supervisors to ensure their relevance and real-world applicability. Users can set their own pace and participants of the RACP Continuing Professional Development Program can earn credits for the time they spend on the resources.  The resources are freely available to members.
