Fee Reimbursement Initiative
Overview
The Fee Reimbursement Initiative is for eligible trainees who identify as:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Māori who are not directly employed by District Health Boards in Aotearoa New Zealand
- Pacific peoples who are not directly employed by District Health Boards in Aotearoa New Zealand
The reimbursement can be used to cover the cost of annual training and/or first-attempt examinations for Basic and Advanced Training.
Once participation in the initiative is confirmed, relevant fees will continue to be reimbursed subject to satisfactory training progression, without the need to re-apply.
Eligibility criteria
To apply, a College trainee needs to fulfil the following criteria:
- Is registered as a Basic or Advanced Trainee with the College.
- Identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, Māori or Pacific person and can show proof of their Indigeneity and/or ethnicity as part of the Fee Reimbursement Application process.
- For College trainees in Aotearoa New Zealand, is not directly employed by a District Health Board (DHB).
- Has paid the training and/or exam fee/s being sought for reimbursement. Noting that for exams, a fee reimbursement can only be sought for the first attempt at an exam.
- Completes the Fee Reimbursement application form
