Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the formal recognition of experience obtained prior to entry in an RACP training program.
Trainees can apply to have previous experience considered towards Basic Training through RPL.

Applying
To apply for RPL, you must be:
- a current trainee or Fellow enrolled in an RACP training program in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand
- an International Medical Graduate who is enrolled in an RACP training program
The policy doesn't apply to Overseas Trained Physicians who wish to join the RACP through the specialist recognition pathway.

Trainees should apply within 3 months of the start date of your first training rotation with the College to be eligible for RPL.
