New MBS MRI item introduced for endometriosis

On 1 November, Medicare Benefits Schedule MRI item 63563 will be introduced for consultant physicians examining for sub fertility and suspected deep endometriosis involving the bowel, bladder or ureter, where pelvic ultrasound is inconclusive. Specific clinical markers must be present for item use and recorded in clinical notes accompanying the referral. The item can only be claimed once every two years. Find out more.
