Western Australia PCH


Eligibility

To join the PCH BPT in WA, you must either:

  • apply for and gain employment with Perth Children’s Hospital for 12 months as an RMO or registrar
  • secure a 12-month paediatric or neonatal registrar employment contract with Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Separately, and only once you have an eligible employment contract, you can apply to join the training program. Prospective trainees will be informed of the BPT selection process by Perth Children’s Hospital Postgraduate Medical Education.

Apply

To join Paediatric and Child Health Basic Physician Training in WA, you must first secure employment for 12 months as an RMO or registrar with Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH), or secure paediatric or neonatal registrar employment for 12 months with Fiona Stanley Hospital. 

Most RMO and registrar positions at WA public hospitals are filled through the annual intake campaign managed by the WA Department of Health.

Once employed, prospective trainees will be informed of the BPT selection process by Perth Children’s Hospital Postgraduate Medical Education.
