The Best Poster Prize in Paediatrics & Child Health is presented for excellence of hypothesis, scientific merit and oral presentation at the RACP Congress.

Title: The Australian Paediatric Surveillance Unit [APSU]: 30 Years of Clinical and Public Health Impacts on Rare Childhood Disorders

Professor Elizabeth Elliott is a Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Sydney and Consultant Paediatrician and Head of the NSW FASD Assessment Service at the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network. She is an Advisory Board member for the National Awareness Campaign for Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Women.

Title: A Quality Improvement Approach to Improving Recognition of Maori Tamariki (Children) and Assessing Barriers to Culturally Responsive Care in a Paediatric Ward Setting

Born and raised in small town New Zealand, Dr Taylor Pennell is a Paediatric Trainee who brings a unique perspective to her research and practice. She holds a passion for improving care for indigenous and low socioeconomic communities, as evidenced in her research, quality improvement projects and many community endeavours.


Eligibility

The prize is open to Fellows and Advanced Trainees in the Paediatrics & Child Health Division.

Prize

2 x prizes are on offer for 1 Fellow and 1 trainee.

Each prize recipient is awarded AUD$750 and a certificate.

Submission

Read the terms and conditions and abstract guidelines before you submit your abstract.

Abstracts that do not conform to the guidelines will not be accepted.

Submit your abstract through the RACP Congress website.

The College Conflicts Of Interest Policy (PDF) and Privacy Policy apply to all applicants and the prize recipient.

Selection process

A Paediatrics & Child Health Division Working Group will review the abstracts and select those that meet the highest standard.

Selected applicants will be notified by the RACP Foundation and briefed on the next stage: a poster and short oral presentation at the RACP Congress.

Note: You must be registered to attend RACP Congress to be able to participate in the poster presentation.

On the day, a Judging Panel will adjudicate the posters and presentations.

The RACP requires the recipient's permission to publish their winning abstracts in the Journal of Paediatrics & Child Health. Publication of abstracts is at the discretion of the Journal’s Editor in Chief.
