The Board established the Paediatrics and Child Health Division (PCHD) Council to support the professional careers of the Fellows and trainees of the PCHD and work with other relevant College Bodies and staff in relation to:
- trainee education, training and assessment
- education, continuing professional development and quality performance of Fellows
- policy and advocacy
- the assessment of overseas trained professionals
- research
- workforce
The Council strives to promote and advance the body of knowledge and the quality and safe practice of paediatrics and child health and act as the authoritative source of direction and advice within the College and externally in regards to paediatrics and child health, particularly in the area of policy and advocacy.
The Council provide governance and oversight for other paediatrics and child health bodies of the College, including the Division Education Committee, Division Policy and Advocacy Committee, Division Research Committee and Chapter of Community Child Health.
