Your Member Support Officers
The Member Support Officer (MSO) has the primary role of facilitating the implementation of all the RACP education programs, with a focus on the PREP Basic, Advanced, Chapter and Faculty Training programs.
MSOs adopt a ‘Train the Trainer’ philosophy and support the Training Program Director (TPD) at various hospitals by promoting, through education, the value of the Educational Supervisor and Professional Development Advisor roles.
The MSO also has a role in the facilitation of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program, provides local support for the Supervisor Professional Development Program (SPDP) and attends career events for prospective trainees to provide information on career pathways and entry into training.
Our services
MSOs are usually based in the College’s state offices and run locally-based workshops/sessions and one-on-one consultations for trainees and supervisors in each state.
Sessions by the MSO are usually one hour in duration and are either held onsite at a hospital, consultant/trainee workplace or at the College's state office. These sessions mainly focus on Basic Training, where all aspects of the program are explained including the Basic Training PREP tools and Basic Training portal. The MSO can also hold generic sessions, depending on the need identified locally, for Advanced, Chapter and Faculty Training or specialty specific.
These sessions by the MSO which are aimed at trainees, supervisors or a mixed audience, also provide current information and updates from the College and are an opportunity for member feedback which the MSO shares with the College.
