Elevating Outcomes: From Methadone to Buprenorphine and Long-Acting Therapy
Date:
24 Jun 2025 at 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Join us for this 90-minute CPD masterclass focused on improving outcomes in opioid dependency treatment through safer, more strategic transitions to buprenorphine.
Designed for clinicians working in addiction medicine, general practice, and public health, this expert-led session will unpack the practicalities of transitioning patients from methadone to sublingual and long-acting injectable (LAI) buprenorphine — with an emphasis on high-dose formulations, dose equivalence, and patient selection.
The program will draw on international evidence, safety benchmarks, and Australian real-world experience to guide clinical decision-making. Through case-based discussion, attendees will gain practical tools to support patient-centred, outcome-focused care in opioid pharmacotherapy.
Speakers:
- Prof Mark Greenwald – Wayne State University, USA
-
Dr Mark Hardy – South Western Sydney Local Health District
-
Dr David Jacka – Drug & Alcohol Service, Victoria
