ANZBMS Webinar: Interdisciplinary management of children with bone and mineral disorders
Date:
29 Jul 2025 at 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Host:
Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS)
This presentation explores current advances in the diagnosis and management of key paediatric bone and mineral disorders. These conditions, while distinct in aetiology and pathophysiology, share common challenges in early identification and long-term care. Emphasis will be placed on diagnostic strategies including clinical assessment, biochemical markers, and imaging, as well as the role of genetic testing.
The presentation highlights the importance of interdisciplinary care models involving paediatricians, endocrinologists, geneticists, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and podiatrists to optimise outcomes.
Case examples will illustrate how integrated approaches improve diagnosis, support family-centred care, and guide therapy—including bisphosphonate treatment, burosumab and nutritional interventions.
This session aims to provide clinicians with practical insights into managing these complex conditions and fostering collaboration across specialties.
