Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme: Digital access to pulmonary/cardiology authority Medicines

Date published:
03 May 2023

Services Australia has provided the below information relating to changes made to the pulmonary/cardiology medicines from 1 December 2022.

Services Australia and the Department of Health and Aged Care are continuing to work together to increase the number of PBS medicines that can be requested and approved in ‘real-time’ using the Online PBS Authorities system (the system). This includes the changes made to the pulmonary/cardiology medicines from 1 December 2022.

For initial pulmonary/cardiology medicines treatment, join the 26 per cent of prescribers currently using the system. The system makes it easier for you to request an authority approval from Services Australia by providing an immediate processing response, avoiding any postage and processing delays.
