Congress cancelled, Convocation postponed

The Board has made the decision to cancel RACP Congress and postpone Convocation, which were scheduled for May 2020.

These difficult decisions were not taken lightly. Considering the global repercussions of COVID-19, as physicians it is our responsibility to put the safety of our members and the community we serve above all else.

We recognise these Board decisions may prompt further subsequent questions. Please email memberservices@racp.edu.au or call 1300 697 227 in Australia or 0508 697 227 in Aotearoa New Zealand; and we will do our best to answer as soon as we are able to.

RACP Congress 2020 cancellation

Anyone who has registered for RACP Congress 2020 and related ancillary events through the RACP Congress registration site will be automatically refunded 100% of their registration fee through our event partner, Event Travel Management within two weeks (16 to 31 March 2020).

Any accommodation booked via Event Travel Management when registering will also be refunded and processed at the same time. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact racpcongress@eventsctm.com

Delegates who made their own travel arrangements outside of the Congress registration are encouraged to contact their travel provider for refunds on flights and accommodation. The College is not able to provide refunds for these expenses.

If you submitted an abstract and were expecting to present at Congress, it will still be published in either the Internal Medicine Journal Congress abstract supplement or the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health Congress abstract supplement. Both supplements are published by Wiley and will be made available in May 2020.

Presenters will be offered the option to present at RACP Congress 2021 being held in Brisbane on Wednesday 28 April to Saturday 1 May 2021.

We are currently looking at alternative options for delivering the Congress program and will provide an update on this as soon as we are able.

Convocation postponement

All new Fellows who have been invited or have registered to attend Convocation Ceremony in Melbourne in May 2020 will be contacted with further information about this event. Again, we encourage those who have registered for this event to contact your travel provider for refunds on flights and accommodation arrangements that you have made. The College is not able to provide refunds for these expenses.
