Description

The Royal Adelaide Hospital is large tertiary referral and teaching centre in South Australia. Step into a dynamic Hepatology Fellow role where you’ll manage complex liver cases, build clinical expertise, and shape patient care.

You’ll lead MDT discussions, support research, and create strong multidisciplinary connections across services. This is a 1-year (FTE 0.8) non-core training position. MDP-2 $96,569 - $153,533 p.a. (pro rata) + super + salary packaging Part-time working 30.4 hours per week and temporary, from 1/2/27 up to 30/1/28.

Primary objectives of the role:
  • Attend liver, gastroenterology clinic and endoscopy lists
  • Chair hepatocellular carcinoma MDT fortnightly
  • Support hepatology research projects
  • Assist registrars with complex liver cases
  • Join on call and inpatient consult roster
  • Supervise and teach junior medical staff
  • Liaise with consultants, departments and referrers
  • Deliver high quality, compassionate patient care

Essential qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent degree able to be registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  • Passed FRACP part 1 and 2 clinical examinations.
  • Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
  • Working with Children Check
  • Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Completed 2 core years of Gastroenterology Advanced Training
  • Completed Conjoint Committee Gastrointestinal Endoscopy/Colonoscopy requirements
  • Completed or nearly completed RACP Advanced Training Research Project
