Description
Maitland Hospital is seeking a passionate and skilled Geriatrician to join our team in a permanent part-time role (0.6 FTE, 24 hours/week). This position offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive consultative and inpatient care, including Hospital in the Home, while contributing to medical education and advanced trainee supervision.
In this role, you'll:
- provide expert acute geriatric care to inpatients and deliver consultative and outpatient services at Maitland Hospital, Kurri Kurri Hospital, and Cessnock District Hospital
- support and service geriatric models of care, including Orthogeriatrics, Hospital in the Home, residential care in-reach, and similar programs
- lead and contribute to educational activities within the Department of Medicine
- supervise advanced trainees, contributing to the development of future specialists
- participate in clinical service development and change management projects

Essential qualifications
- Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Specialist medical registration in Geriatrics with AHPRA.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Geriatric Medicine), or nearing completion.
- Recent, comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine.
- Dual Fellowship in General and Geriatric Medicine is desirable.
