The Child and Adolescent Safety Paediatrician (CASP) will provide clinical and strategic leadership to support holistic, child protection medical, forensic responses within the district.
This role is responsible for developing systems, policies and practices, in partnership with the broader workforce, to ensure optimal health and wellbeing outcomes for children experiencing sexual assault, physical abuse, neglect and/or domestic violence.
This role is expected to provide some direct clinical care to children, young people experiencing sexual assault, physical abuse, neglect and/or domestic violence.
You’ll have advanced skills in engaging, motivating staff, developing capability and potential in others that inspires direction and purpose.
You’ll work closely with:
- the Violence, Abuse and Neglect Senior Service Manager
- the Medical Lead Adult Medical and Forensic - PARVAN
- VAN Clinical Nurse Consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners
- Paediatric colleagues
- PARVAN psychosocial staff
- Emergency Care colleagues
You’ll also work more broadly across the health service to provide integrated, culturally safe, trauma informed care.
The CASP will support innovation, evidence-based practice to develop and deliver effective, sound interventions that operationalise the NSW Health Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Framework, Service Standards and relevant policies and procedures.
