Description
- Total Indicative Remuneration: $366,283 - $822,189 per annum
- Classification: MD2 - Consultant / Senior Consultant
- Ongoing Part-time - 7.5 hours per week
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments of children referred through child protection pathways
- Provide expert clinical opinions and documentation for legal proceedings
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, police, and legal professionals
- Deliver trauma-informed care to children and their families
- Participate in case conferences and court proceedings as required
Essential qualifications
- Medical degree with specialist qualifications in paediatrics or relevant field • Experience in child protection medicine or forensic paediatrics preferred
- Strong communication skills for interacting with children, families, and legal professionals
- Ability to provide trauma-informed care and maintain professional boundaries • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
To be eligible for appointment to this role, you must hold:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award. A higher degree (MD, PhD) and experience in research or publications will be highly regarded.
