We’re seeking General Medicine Consultant Physicians to join our team at Rockingham General Hospital. Applicants with dual training in subspeciality are welcome to apply.

This is a recruitment pool for sessional, casual, permanent full time, permanent part time, fixed term full time, and fixed term part time appointments, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

As a General Medicine Consultant Physician, you’ll:

• lead the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist medical services to patients
• promote patient safety and quality of care
• provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers
• collaborate with the Head of Department and other Consultants to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets
• work within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee

Essential qualifications

• eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent
• demonstrated extensive knowledge, clinical experience, judgement, skills in the practice area of Internal Medicine including in associated diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• demonstrated high level skills in all aspects of the CanMEDS competency framework
• demonstrated experience in clinical teaching, audit and clinical research
• demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement principles and practices
• demonstrated ability to provide leadership, facilitate effective multidisciplinary teamwork, provide patient centric care
