Mater is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified General Paediatrician to join the team in a full-time, permanent position to start as soon as possible.
These positions are ideal for general paediatricians looking to work in both public and private settings without the burden of managing their own practice.
This opportunity would be great for early-career specialists looking for support as they start their own private practice.
These unique roles offer the opportunity to work alongside expert neonatologists at Mater Mothers Hospital Brisbane, Australia’s largest maternity facility, as well as working on rotation at Mater Mothers facilities in Redland, Springfield, Mackay and Rockhampton.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive family-centered developmental care for babies born at Mater Mothers Hospitals, Brisbane
- Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, teaching sessions, journal club, grand rounds, quality audits, and research
- Provide specialist consulting in private practice rooms, undertake rounds of any inpatients, and contribute to on-call for maternity services during rotations.

Essential qualifications
- Registration as a Medical Practitioner without conditions, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Specialist registration in Paediatrics and Child Health – General Paediatrics
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent
- Completion of Advanced Training in General Paediatrics with the RACP or equivalent
- Experience in providing evidence-based, family-centered paediatric care, including in SCN, birthing, postnatal, and outpatient settings.
