We're seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Consultant in Immunology and Allergy to join our dynamic Clinical Immunology and Allergy unit. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering safe, high-quality clinical services to both inpatients and outpatients, providing expert care to those referred to our unit.

You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the implementation of best-practice standards in patient care, while also contributing to the development and continuous improvement of clinical services. This is a unique opportunity to influence the growth and evolution of clinical immunology and allergy services, ensuring exceptional outcomes for our diverse patient group.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact in education and research. You'll be actively involved in the teaching and training of medical students, junior doctors, and postgraduate trainees, fostering the next generation of clinicians in this specialised field.

You'll also contribute to cutting-edge clinical and basic research aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of immunological and allergic conditions.

Although this position is advertised as a part-time role, there will be significant support for the successful candidate to work in a private practice setting for additional hours. There is also potential for this role to transition to a full-time position in the near future, subject to securing adequate funding.

Essential qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications, experience, and personal qualities: 

  • Qualifications: MBBS (or equivalent) and appropriate specialist qualifications with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority. 
  • Experience: Proven experience in the clinical practice of Immunology and Allergy, quality improvement activities, and clinical research/trials. 
  • Skills: Strong clinical excellence, professional integrity, effective communication, and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Knowledge: Specialist-level understanding of Immunology and Allergy, clinical standards, policies, and quality improvement principles.
