Description

The RMA determines Statements of Principles (SOPs) using relevant, sound medical‑scientific evidence. The Authority does not consider individual claims. The RMA comprises a Chairperson and four eminent medical or scientific experts. Members are appointed by the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs for up to five years and work on a part‑time basis.

The RMA is supported by a Brisbane‑based Secretariat (legal, administrative and research staff).

Essential qualifications

To be a strong contender you'll be a registered medical practitioner or medical scientist with an outstanding academic record and extensive clinical or public health experience. We're particularly seeking expertise in:

  • Psychiatry
  • Musculoskeletal medicine
  • and/or Epidemiology

Highly regarded applicants will demonstrate medical‑scientific leadership, intellectual rigour, excellent stakeholder management and an understanding of the Australian Repatriation system and experience with executive government or institutions.
