We have positions available for General Paediatric Registrars for 2026–2027 (up to 18 months fixed term) at Alice Springs Hospital, Northern Territory, Australia.
Positions are available from 2 February 2026, with flexible start dates.

The position provides high-quality care to inpatients (general paediatric and neonatal unit) and outpatients within Alice Springs Hospital and its large catchment area, including the Central Australian and Barkly regions, extending to border areas of Western Australia and South Australia.
The department is accredited for:
- RACP Advanced Training in General Paediatrics (Rural, with perinatal and Community/Developmental training)
- Community Child Health (CCH)
- ACRRM training (Paediatric AST)
- FACEM training
Alice Springs Hospital is a teaching hospital affiliated with Flinders University, Charles Darwin University, and the Menzies School of Health Research.
Essential qualifications
Applicants must be eligible for general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
You will have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience, incorporating paediatric inpatient and outpatient care, or experience as a general practice or emergency medicine trainee with a particular interest in paediatrics, or equivalent.
You will have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively as a team member in a cross-cultural work environment. A demonstrated interest in and commitment to improving Indigenous child health is essential.
Positions may be subject to pre-employment checks, including immunisation requirements, a Working with Children clearance notice, and criminal history checks.

- Category B (indirect contact with blood or body substances)
