The Department of Neurology at RHH is fully accredited for neurology training, and provides management of an average of 20 neurology and stroke inpatients, plus serves a wide range of subspecialty clinics and neurophysiology services. The information and application links here are for an elective/fellowship year at RHH, in neuroimmunology/multiple sclerosis and neuromuscular/neurophysiology. This position includes multiple outpatient clinics and NCS/EMG sessions per week, aiming to achieve subspecialisation in these fields and level 2 NCS/EMG proficiency.

Salary:

$134,930 to $189,005 per annum Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.

Period of employment:

Fixed term full-time* day work with on-call working 76 hours per fortnight (plus 10 hours protected training time per fortnight, pro rata) starting from 1 February 2027 until 7 February 2028. 

Essential qualifications

  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas: a) Crimes of Violence b) Sex Related Offences c) Serious Drug Offences d) Crimes involving dishonesty
