The Tasmanian Health Service seeks a Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist to join the Northern Cancer Service. The Northern Cancer Service is an integrated cancer service operating across three sites in Northern Tasmania, providing Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Haematology services. The position will be based at the W.P. Holman Clinic in Launceston providing inpatient and outpatient care. It will also provide outreach outpatient services to the Northwest Cancer Centre in Burnie and the Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe.
About the role
- provide a diagnostic and consultative service for inpatients and outpatients in adult and paediatric haematology at the Northern Cancer Service
- contribute to undergraduate teaching and post graduate teaching
- undertake quality improvement and research activities
Details of appointment
- permanent, full time, day work, position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
- the successful applicant will also be part of an on-call roster.
- fixed term hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary
Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 - Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum.
Essential qualifications
Successful applicants will be required to have:
- Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty. Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must always remain current and valid
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Australia or equivalent
