Board Communiqué February 2020

Here are the highlights of key issues discussed at our first meeting on 21 February 2020.


The meeting was primarily concerned with the conduct of the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) and College elections.

It was confirmed that the requisition for an EGM to remove three directors was valid, including confirmation that the requisitioners were current members.

We noted that there was considerable chance for confusion by members, particularly where members need to vote on the current election process and shortly after, vote on three directors in the EGM.

Consideration was given to the time to prepare a considered and clear notice, respectful communications and establish the voting system with Link Market Services.

It was noted that proposed EGM messaging and communication of the elections complied with the Candidate Code of Conduct and relevant by-laws.

We also noted that the updated Nomination and Election By-law included a requirement for candidates to not make disparaging comments.
