The Aotearoa New Zealand AFRM Committee supports the careers of Fellows and trainees in rehabilitation medicine in Aotearoa New Zealand. We do this by:
- delivering training and continuing professional development programs
- developing educational resources for the specialty
We also advise the AFRM Council and the Aotearoa New Zealand Committee, and prepare project proposals for approval by the Faculty Council.
A key role of the Committee is to promote rehabilitation medicine. Under the direction of the Faculty, we respond to new and emerging issues and contribute to policy and advocacy activities.
The College Body acknowledges Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the 5 Treaty principles articulated by the Waitangi Tribunal, and is committed to upholding its Principles and Articles.
All policies consider their impact on the wellbeing and mana of Māori as tangata whenua, and align with the principles of tino rangatiratanga, equity, active protection, options, and partnership.
